While many wait for a death to find out what was left for them in a will, we who are in Christ already got an inheritance before we were born. God in His mercy saw us in Him before the beginning of time and made us His heirs. He listed us as joint-beneficiariestogether with His Son Jesus Christ because he loved us as much as he loved His only begotten son. So for us,it is not whether He has left anything for us in his will , but rather that He hadalready pre-destinated us to be among those He has chosen in the beloved – Eph_1:11.

God did all this while we were still sinners. He did not wait for us to behave well in our lifetime before leaving us something.Even Saul who was on his way to murder Christians was bequeathed immediately he woke up from the ground in Act 26:18 and received forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in Christ Jesus. The moment we chose Christ we become heirs of God. And joint heirs with his beloved son Jesus Christ. So that what Jesus has we have also. We do not share the inheritance with Him 50:50 but rather we both own 100% of it all – being joint-heirs together with Him – Rom_8:17.

God did all this in advance because He had great confidence that the weight of His love would make us repent of any waywardness. So now His inheritance is ours to loose because as far as He is concerned He has bequeathed us all that He has. That is why Jesus warned the saints in Philadelphia to hold that fast onto that which they have and ensure that no man takes away your crown – Rev_3:11.

I pray that the eyes of your understanding be enlightened that you may know what the riches of this inheritance is – Eph_1:18.And to realise thatif our heavenly inheritance will take eternity for us to enjoy then we neednot fight over earthly riches left behind. But by faith we cancontinually thank the Father, for making us worthy to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light -Col_1:12. Rejoice, for you have an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled that fades not away; reserved in heaven for you forever – 1Pe_1:4.  Congratulations.
